Family Garden
In the initial meeting with the clients we spoke about enhancing the view of the garden from the house and retaining enough lawn for children to play, with the client choosing to allow space for the existing climbing frame and trampoline. I have chosen to maintain the slight slope from the house to allow for a more dramatic planting display with a focus on seasonal interest throughout the year. Large, overlapping platform steps allow for a calm transition to the garden and create spaces for planting to wrap around and spill over the platforms. A primary seating area at the top of the steps catches the evening sun, whilst a U-shaped seating area with water feature offers a calmer, cooler seat beneath the shade of the neighbours tree.
